Sunday, April 13

Sun. Apr. 13 - Living Activism Night presents Baile y Blues, a fundraiser for the benefit of
Lutheran Volunteer Corps (LVC). LVC places full-time volunteers into year-long positions at not for profit
organizations around the country, including Milwaukee. Former and current volunteers come to the stage
as EMBEDDED REPORTER, MIRIAM LARSEN, and ERICK ANDERSON highlight this evening of music, dancing,
and social justice.

The Lutheran Volunteer Corps is a year-long service program for people
21 and over seeking to unite faith, social justice, community living,
and simplicity. Volunteers are matched with non-profit organizations
in ten metropolitan areas across the United States. They work
full-time in various positions ranging from direct social services, to
political advocacy, community organizing, education, and activism while
living in intentional community. Milwaukee's Lutheran Volunteers have
been placed at many places including The Urban Ecology Center, The New
Hope Project, Bread of Healing Clinic, Shalom High School, Task Force
on Family Violence, and The Healing Center.
